Rob Bergstrom (Twitter @Smokejumpers) came through Rocklin last week and we had a chance to have dinner and catch up on his new business venture, Red Boat Fish Sauce.  Rob had just gotten back from a trip to Phu Quoc, Vietnam where the fish is caught, salted and fermented.

Simple Grilled Flank Steak

Today’s dinner was a simple grilled flank steak with grilled potatoes and some heirloom tomatoes out of the garden.  It just amazes me how good tomatoes out of the garden can be.  I like tomatoes in salads and on hamburgers but unless they are garden fresh tomatoes I can’t eat them as a side dish.

The Great Frog Leg Failure

I stopped by my favorite “meat company” on the way home from work on Wednesday to pick something up for the weekend.  For some reason I decided on frog legs.  I’m not sure what actually possessed me to buy frog legs, but I’d sure like to find out, so I don’t ever do it again.

BBQ Grail's Cumin Grilled Chicken

Ingredients 4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves 1 Tablespoon dried Oregano 1 Teaspoon ground Cumin 2 Garlic cloves, minced Zest and juice of 1 lime Zest and juice of 1 orange 1 Teaspoon Kosher salt 1/2 Teaspoon black pepper Directions

Place the chicken, oregano, cumin, garlic, zest and juices in a large glass dish
