MUG Root Beer knows 40 percent of dads have received a Father’s Day gift that wasn’t on their wish list. This year, MUG Root Beer is reinventing the Father’s Day tradition with Dad’s favorite past time-a frosty brew and ingredients for spending time with family and friends outdoors. I have received five MUG Root Beer “Brew-B-Q” Gift Packs. The gift pack contains a cooler, 2 liters of MUG Root Beer and all the ingredients to make their special Southern Brew-B-Q Sauce recipe
Does your dad deserve to win a “Brew-B-Q” Gift pack? Or maybe your husband? If you’d like to nominate someone, send an email to to bbqgrail@earthlink.net (or you can use the comment box below) and tell me why “dad” deserves to win. Remember, this is a Father’s Day contest so it has to be about dad, the kids and BBQ. You can include a picture if you’d like. (If you send me a picture, you are giving me permission to publish!) All entries will be posted on the BBQ Grail blog. Winner’s will be decided by me and announced here on Father’s Day. You’ll receive an email if you win, requesting your address.

Hey that there would be nice! Can a Dad enter himself, son might not point out all my good quality’s.
Certainly if a “dad” wants to nominate himself I see no reason why not.
I have fond memories of sharing root beer floats on a hot summer day in Houston, Texas with my Dad and younger brothers; boy they sure tasted good. Gotta drop the hint to my son for this upcoming Father’s Day.
I am also curious about the Southern Brew BQ sauce; is it available in the Northeast.
How are you defining ‘dad’ exactly? my dog considers me his daddy after i rescued him. and he loves when i’m out back bbq’n since its means play play play!
Actually you can make yourself. I’ll post the recipe on Father’s Day along with the winners of the gift packs.
Sure, why not. It’s a little out of the box I was thinking about, but what the heck.
I want to nominate my Dad! He is the greatest Dad in the whole world. He works hard all day and then comes home and gets right to work around the house, mowing the lawn, cleaning the gutters, helping with dishes, taking down the garbage, grocery shopping, and anything else that needs to be done. He is always there for me, no matter! He deserves the gift pack so he can sit back and relax for once with a nice mug of frosty root beer and some delicious BBQ food!
I would like to nominate myself. I’m dad to my two boys (Zach 12 and Gabe 6)who love to help out when its time to BBQ! I have a full time job and work part-time making up for the lack of a second income during the summertime. My wife works at a private grade school and summers are tough on pocketbook. Whenever I get free time its usually spent with the boys BBQ-ing. Gabe loves to spritz the meat! I’ll email the pic of him doing such.
Heck of a contest! I’ll try to get my kids to nominate me – I’m too good a dad to nominate myself…LOL I keeed, I keeeed.

My dad is gone now, but I nominate his grandson who loves to grill and BBQ. His favorite BBQ sauce has Coca Cola in it but I think he is going to be very excited to try this Mug BBQ recipe because he loves their root beer.
I will nominate myself. I love my kids and grandkids, I love BBQ, and I really love MUG Root Beer!!!!
Greg
What can I say except that I think my hubby is the best. He treats me with respect and loves me unconditionally. He is a hard worker and good provider and he does the dishes!! What more can a girl ask for?
I am going to nominate myself. My name is Gary, I have a 5 year old son named Ganon. Ganon likes root beer, and Ganon would really like to share a root beer float with his dad (and even his mom) For fathers day I would like for my name to be picked as a winner, so I can then tell Ganon he won the contest and that he wins Root Beer, and that would make him really happy, making it the best fathers day present ever. Plus I make killer BBQ and am saving an 11 pound Strube Ranch brisket for a select few people.
Not only has my man raised his two wonderful sons but has taken on the task of me and my four kids! John always puts family first, so often missing out on things he wants to fulfill the wishes of one of his 6 kids. What can beat a man like that I ask?
OOps, i forgot, He loves root beer floats with Mug Root Beer!!!!!
I wanted to nominate my dad! He is phenomenal! He works so hard for his family. Not only has he served as a police officer, he is a cancer survivor who still works more than full time to provide for his family, and help my husband & I provide for our children, one of which is disabled. My dad has always stuck by my side, and he always lets my momma know how much he loves her. He ROCKS at makin’ bar-b-q, whether its a few racks O ribs, or 26 oz. Ribeyes, or when he slow cooked 8 briskets all on his own for a wedding, hes got it goin on! I have never seen a man who watches more bar b q shows on food network! I think his dream would be to go up against Bobby Flay! I know he would be thrilled to have a Frosty Root Beer!
My dad deserves the brew b-q cause he does so much for us.he only sleeps like 6hours.he wakes up at 4:00a.m and sleeps at 10:00p.m.he comes really tired from work and still tries to make us be happy . he buys us desserts for us to be happy. maybe sometimes he is a little grumpy but i sure understand him.and hes a good no GREAT MAN.he gives money to the poorpretending or non-pretending.and if we say he is acting bad he tries his best to change what he did wrong.and he does other things to like recycles, reuse, and even remakes stuff. well thats why i think my dad deserves that great gift.!.!
