Wonder what I’m doing tonight?
It’s all put together. The first cook will be Monday night, I want some time to plan something special. And my daughter surprised us by driving home from college in Idaho and the wife promised her something for dinner tomorrow.
Here’s the first picture with the box open:
What’s missing from the picture above. What’s missing is some packing material between the lid and the kettle. The lid is placed upside down and everywhere the lid touched the tabs that hold the grill it was rubbed all the way to bare metal.
Three places. Talk about a downer. I found the packing material in the bottom of the box. It’s obvious that who every packed this thing didn’t pay much attention to detail.
Here it is all put together. It’s huge!
The thermometer in the lid is going to be nice. It is big enough to do some real indirect type heat. Will even give it a shot at some low and slow.

I called Weber and they will send me a new lid as soon as they are available. I’m sure glad their customer service is first rate.

Thanks for the great photos, Larry. I love my 22″ kettle, but would really like the extra room on this baby. What is up with Weber and the odd sizes? 26 3/4″, 22 1/2″ WSM etc.
would you measure the cooking grill for me please (:>)?

The grate from side to side is 25 3/8 inches across. Hope that helps.
i own a ranch kettle the big boy it took UPS 5 times to get it to me in acceptable condition they total kicked around slamed it on the ground dented the lids
chipped off the paint the last shippment came and the box colasped in my garage but the last of the 5 was the one accpeted THESE GRILLS NEED TO BE SHIPPED FREIGHT NOT GROUND IF YOU GET IT GROUND MOST LIKEY IT WILL BE DISTROYED . the awesome cust service sent me replacement lids
I like the new 26…much more affordable than the monster ranch kettle. Good for smoking….will be ordering mine soon.
Hi, I have a couple of questions about your Weber 26. Is there more vertical space between the cooking grate and the lid compared to the Weber 22.5? Is there a work table that will fit the 26? I have a Weber work table for my 22.5, I wonder if it would work on the 26? Thanks, and please email me.
